Pine Belt, MS. – A motorcyclist was injured following a collision on Thursday night in Pine Belt on Thursday night.
According to the Jones County Fire Council, the accident happened around 6:22 p.m. near the intersection of MS-84 and Mill Creek Road.
A motorcycle was traveling east on MS-84 when it was rear-ended by the Nissan Altima.
The rider was ejected from the bike and was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the Nissan and a passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and refused transport to the hospital.
Sandersville and Powers volunteer fire departments along with the Mississippi Highway Patrol also responded to the accident.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
