Joplin, MO. – One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident near Joplin on Monday afternoon.
According to the police, the accident happened at the intersection of Lone Elm Road and Zora Street at around 2:01 p.m.
A 16-year-old girl from Carl Junction, MO, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe northbound when she failed to yield to an eastbound 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide operated by a 33-year-old woman from Joplin, MO.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
The driver of the Tahoe was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
