Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run in Hartford, Police Say
A hit-and-run incident involving a car and a motorcycle occurred at the intersection of Country Club and Higby roads in Hartford on Tuesday.
Police reported that Marco Jefferson Chamorro Cordova was driving the vehicle that struck the motorcycle and fled the scene in another car. Authorities confirmed that Chaomorro Cordova’s passenger, 21-year-old Diana Anton Peralta, initially claimed she was the driver, but video evidence contradicted her statement.
The motorcyclist involved sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital. As of Tuesday morning, the victim was undergoing surgery, and no updates on their condition have been provided.
Chamorro Cordova faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, evading responsibility, DUI, and operating a vehicle without a license. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond.
Peralta was charged with interfering with an officer and was released on a $10,000 bond, according to authorities.
