19-Year-Old Killed in Motorcycle Crash on U.S. Highway 285 North of Aspen Park

A motorcycle crash on U.S. Highway 285 claimed the life of a 19-year-old male on Sunday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The single-vehicle accident occurred on the southbound side of U.S. 285 at milepost 241 around 2:41 p.m. Authorities reported that the motorcycle struck a cable rail. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office following notification of next of kin and completion of an autopsy.

The Colorado State Patrol’s Vehicular Crimes Unit is leading the investigation. A cause for the crash has not been determined, and lane closures were implemented following the incident. Emergency responders included local law enforcement and medical personnel.
