PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KVOA) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after a collision with a vehicle in the Picture Rocks area on June 18.
Brady Allen Matteson was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash at the intersection of Orange Grove Road and Taylor Lane, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD). The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital with potential minor injuries.
Deputies from the Tucson Mountain District responded to the incident around 12:30 p.m. PCSD Traffic Unit detectives stated the vehicle was traveling west on Orange Grove Road while Matteson was reportedly riding east at a high rate of speed. The vehicle attempted a left turn in front of the motorcycle, leading to the collision.
Authorities indicated that the speed of the motorcycle is believed to be a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing, with additional details awaited.
