TOWN OF CLYDE, Wis. (WKOW) — A motorcycle crash on State Highway 130 resulted in a fatality Friday night, according to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at 7:47 p.m., involving 21-year-old Lucas Weitzel from Richland Center riding a Suzuki GSX600 northbound at high speed. Weitzel lost control on a curve and struck a guardrail.
Despite life-saving efforts by bystanders and emergency responders, Weitzel was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iowa County Coroner’s Office.
Emergency crews including the Lone Rock Fire Department, Dodgeville EMS, Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Avoca Fire Department, and UW MedFlight were dispatched to the scene. Assistance was also provided by Wegner Auto Service and Richardson-Stafford Funeral Home.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
