DOVER, Del. — A motorcycle crash resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man Monday night on North DuPont Highway.
According to the Dover Police Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. when a Jeep Wrangler, attempting to turn left onto Lepore Drive, entered the path of a Yamaha R1 motorcycle traveling south. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the Jeep.
Emergency responders arrived to find the motorcyclist, identified as Emmanuel Farmer of Smyrna, critically injured. He was transported to a local hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether impairment played a role. Preliminary findings suggest that speeding may have been a factor. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
