A 23-year-old driver died and another was hospitalized following a crash involving a sedan and a tow truck on eastbound Interstate 96 in Detroit early Sunday.
The incident occurred at 3:05 a.m. near Outer Drive. Michigan State Police responded to find the sedan obstructing the middle lane and the tow truck stopped on the left shoulder.
Authorities said the sedan driver lost control, resulting in a collision with the rear of the tow truck. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene, while the tow truck operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
