Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)—A motorcycle collision with an SUV at a Rochester interchange on Tuesday resulted in one fatality.
The crash occurred shortly after 11 a.m. at the intersection of 40th Street SE, Woodlake Dr. SE, and the entrance ramp to northbound Hwy. 63, near the Shoppes on Maine complex.
26-Year-Old Rochester Man Identified as Victim
Authorities have identified the deceased motorcyclist as 26-year-old Damon Saponari. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Rochester Police Department.
The SUV driver was unharmed, and their identity has not been released.
Investigation Ongoing
The Rochester Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident. Officers closed the eastbound lanes of 40th St. SE for approximately two hours to facilitate the investigation with the department’s Forensic Mapping Unit.
