Lede: A single-vehicle crash on Del Valle Road claimed the life of a 26-year-old woman in Livermore on July 3, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 11:38 a.m. south of Mines Road. The driver, identified as Aileen Perez, reportedly lost control of her vehicle, resulting in it leaving the roadway and descending approximately 200 feet into a ravine.
Emergency responders pronounced Perez dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not disclosed the exact cause of the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
Del Valle Road was temporarily closed to facilitate rescue operations and the investigation. The California Highway Patrol continues to gather evidence and witness statements related to the incident.
