28-Year-Old Cerritos Man Dies in Newport Beach Motorcycle Crash.

CERRITOS MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT FATALITY CONFIRMED

A 28-year-old Cerritos man died following a motorcycle crash on a Santa Ana freeway transition road Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred at 2:36 p.m. at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 24th Street in Sunset Beach, according to the Newport Beach Police Department. The rider reportedly lost control of a blue motorcycle after colliding with a white Toyota Camry.

Witnesses reported seeing the rider, dressed in black, fly off the motorcycle and land on the right-hand shoulder’s dirt area. Emergency response units arrived, and the Orange County Coroner’s Office confirmed the man’s death at the scene; his name has not been released.

The transition from the eastbound Garden Grove Freeway to the northbound Santa Ana Freeway was closed during the investigation and cleanup, reopening at 5:16 p.m. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene, and police are continuing their investigation.
