COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A 40-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a crash on State Road 29, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at 2:20 a.m. as the man, driving a 2026 Chevy Silverado, was traveling north. The truck crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with a 2019 Ford Fusion driven by a 21-year-old man from Felda.
The driver of the Silverado was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford Fusion driver and his 51-year-old passenger from Sunnyside, Washington, sustained non-incapacitating injuries, authorities said.
Cpl. G. Zimmerly is leading the investigation into the crash, which remains ongoing. No additional details regarding road closures or vehicle tows were provided.
