51-Year-Old Man Dies in Motorcycle Collision on Kapiolani Blvd in Moiliili.

Motorcycle Collision in Moiliili Claims Life Tuesday Afternoon

MOILIILI, Hawaii (Local News Wire) — A 51-year-old man succumbed to injuries from a motorcycle collision on Kapiolani Boulevard on July 14, 2026, at approximately 3:17 p.m.

Authorities reported that the crash occurred as a 67-year-old driver executed a U-turn while traveling westbound. The motorcyclist, also heading west, collided with the vehicle and was ejected onto the roadway.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on scene to treat the motorcyclist for life-threatening injuries. He was transported in critical condition to a local emergency room, where he later died. The man’s identity has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the vehicle was unharmed. Kapiolani Boulevard was temporarily closed between Date Street and Waiaka Road but has since reopened.

Honolulu Police Department (HPD) stated that speed is not suspected as a contributing factor in the collision, and the involvement of drugs or alcohol remains unknown. This incident marks the 23rd traffic fatality on Oahu in 2026, compared to 44 during the same period in 2025.

The investigation is ongoing, according to HPD.
