COLLIN COUNTY, Texas – A 61-year-old man was killed early Sunday when his motorcycle collided with a car that failed to yield the right of way at an intersection, authorities said.
The incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. on October 11 at the intersection of State Highway 205 and County Road 485, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).
Preliminary investigations revealed that Darryl Cloyd, of Lavon, was traveling northbound on a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when a BMW 750, driven by 24-year-old Darren Dahleiden of Plano, pulled out from a stop sign on CR-485 and failed to yield. The motorcycle struck the rear driver’s side of the BMW.
Cloyd was transported to a local medical facility, where he was pronounced dead. Dahleiden was taken to a local hospital with suspected minor injuries.
DPS Highway Patrol troopers are continuing their investigation, and no further details have been released at this time.
