Griswold Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 70-Year-Old Man
A two-vehicle collision occurred at approximately 4:14 p.m. on Monday, just north of Sunset View in Griswold.
According to the Connecticut State Police, the crash involved a black 2026 Indian Scout Bobber motorcycle, operated by Delbert Lee Moore, 70, of Griswold, and a white 2025 Honda CR-V Sport driven by a 66-year-old Griswold woman. Police report that the SUV crossed into the southbound lane before colliding with Moore’s motorcycle.
Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich for treatment.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad of the Connecticut State Police is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Life Star, a medical helicopter, was initially dispatched but later called off.
As of now, no charges have been filed related to the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information or who witnessed the crash to come forward.
