Park Rapids, MN (MinnesotaNow)—An 80-year-old woman died in a head-on collision on Hwy. 34 just east of Park Rapids on Tuesday around 12 p.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol reports the crash involved an eastbound car crossing the center line and colliding head-on with a westbound pickup truck. The drivers were the only occupants of both vehicles.
The driver of the car, identified by authorities as an 80-year-old woman from Nevis, MN, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her identity will be released following notification of her family.
In the pickup truck was 85-year-old Noel Francis Sletten of Park Rapids, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital in Fargo.
Emergency responders arrived promptly, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing. No lane closures were reported beyond the immediate area of the accident.
