CLINTON, Miss. —
Mississippi College track athlete Grayson Foster is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash on Robinson Spring Road in Madison County on Saturday.
Authorities confirmed that Foster’s motorcycle lost traction, resulting in a severe accident. His best friend, who was riding behind him, removed Foster’s helmet to aid his breathing until paramedics arrived.
Foster sustained major injuries, including the loss of one leg and required six units of blood in a single day, prompting his family to encourage blood donations. Annette Rowland of the American Red Cross emphasized the importance of blood in saving lives.
The Mississippi College community is rallying in support, with former teammate Cole Benoit describing Foster as a dedicated and hardworking athlete. “He loved to run,” Benoit said, adding that Foster continued to support teammates despite being sidelined by prior injuries.
Mississippi College’s head cross-country coach released a statement expressing hope for Foster’s recovery, noting his determination in the face of adversity.
Blood donations can be made in Foster’s name at any Mississippi Blood Services Center using the code EQ32.
