Motorcycle Crash Kills 50-Year-Old Man in Aiken County
A motorcycle accident in Aiken County claimed the life of John A. Robins, 50, on Thursday evening.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Christmas as Robins was traveling northbound on Georgia Avenue in North Augusta on a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. The vehicle left the roadway, struck the curb, and ejected Robins, who subsequently collided with a utility pole.
Emergency medical services transported Robins to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 9 p.m., authorities confirmed. A toxicology report is pending, and both the coroner’s office and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety are conducting an investigation into the incident.
