Father Dies in Motorcycle Ride Honoring Murdered Daughter: ‘Almost Too Unbelievable to Be True’

Timothy Hoffman Dies in Motorcycle Crash During Memorial Ride for Daughter

Timothy Hoffman, 58, died in a motorcycle accident on June 2 while on a memorial ride for his daughter near Mile 49 of the Parks Highway.

According to Alaska State Troopers, Hoffman lost control, causing his motorcycle to roll into the center median. His wife, Barbara “Jeanie” Hoffman, who was riding as a passenger, sustained serious injuries. Both were unresponsive when emergency responders arrived and were transported to a local hospital.

Timothy Hoffman was pronounced dead on arrival, while his wife remains in critical condition, requiring sedation, as reported by a family member. Troopers confirmed that Timothy Hoffman was not wearing a helmet during the crash; his wife wore a full-face helmet but suffered significant injuries, including skull fractures.

The ride commemorated the fifth anniversary of his daughter Cynthia’s murder, a case linked to a murder-for-hire plot involving her then-friend Denali Brehmer. Brehmer and accomplices lured Cynthia to Thunderbird Falls in 2019 and killed her.

Hoffman participated in the ride with 15 other motorcycle riders and about 50 total participants, tossing roses over the bridge at the memorial site. The ride was intended to end at Big Lake, where live music and a celebration were planned.

Authorities are investigating the crash, and no further details on lane closures or tows have been provided at this time.
