MARION TOWNSHIP, Minn. — A motorcycle collided with a pickup truck Thursday morning, resulting in a fatality on US Highway 14.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:48 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 14 and Chester Avenue. A 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, ridden by 52-year-old Robert Warren Jackley of St. Charles, was westbound when it collided with a 2021 Chevy Silverado driven by 52-year-old Daniel Lee Dittes of Maple Grove, who was traveling east.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Jackley was pronounced dead at the scene, while Dittes sustained no injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
Emergency responses included the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Rochester Fire Department, Eyota Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Update (1:05 p.m.): Highway 14 has reopened between Chester Avenue and Eyota, as confirmed by 511MN.
Original report: Prior to the reopening, Highway 14 was closed between 50th Avenue SE and MN Highway 42 due to the crash. Drivers were advised to use Collegeview Road as a detour, with expectations for the road to reopen by 2 p.m.
