St. Charles Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on HWY 14.

(UPDATE) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred this morning on Highway 14, east of Rochester, involving a 52-year-old man from St. Charles.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident happened around 10:50 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 14 and Chester Avenue Southeast in Chester. Robert Warren Jackley was westbound on his motorcycle when he collided with an eastbound pickup truck driven by 53-year-old Daniel Lee Dittes from Maple Grove.

The crash resulted in Jackley being pronounced dead at the scene; authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

The incident prompted a closure of Highway 14 between 50th Avenue Southeast and Highway 42 in Eyota for emergency response and an investigation. The Minnesota Department of Transportation later reported that the highway has since been reopened.

Further details, including additional information about the crash and the deceased motorcyclist, have not yet been released.
