Two Killed in Holmes County Motorcycle Crash

HOLMES COUNTY, OH — Two Massillon residents were killed in a motorcycle accident on US Route 62 on Sunday, October 1, at approximately 2:41 p.m.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash involved two motorcycles, resulting in the fatalities of both riders, identified as a 45-year-old male and a 43-year-old female. Their names have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency crews, including local fire and medical services, responded to the scene, where both riders were pronounced dead. The area was closed to traffic for several hours as investigators examined the site of the crash.

Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. Towing services were on site to manage vehicle recovery and clear the roadway. Lane closures affected traffic flow in both directions until approximately 5:30 p.m.

Witnesses reported seeing the motorcycles traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. Further details regarding the cause of the crash have not been released.
