AUGUSTA, ME — A school bus and motorcycle collided on Cony Street on Wednesday, resulting in one fatality.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near the intersection with Western Avenue. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist, a 34-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no children on the bus at the time, which was transporting adult passengers. The bus driver sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.
Emergency response included the AUGUSTA FIRE DEPARTMENT and the MAINE STATE POLICE, who conducted an investigation at the site. Cony Street was closed to traffic for several hours while authorities assessed the scene and cleared the vehicles involved.
