Fatal Carriage Accident in New York Claims Life of Indian Tourist

NEW YORK, NY — A tragic carriage accident in Central Park resulted in the death of a 33-year-old Indian tourist on Saturday, October 7, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

The incident occurred on West 59th Street near the South Park Drive when the carriage was struck by a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. Authorities confirmed that the carriage was carrying two tourists, with one sustaining critical injuries.

Emergency responders from the New York City Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the collision. Medical personnel transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The second individual in the carriage suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The NYPD conducted an investigation into the accident. Initial reports indicate that speed may have been a factor, but further details are pending as authorities gather evidence and witness statements.

All lanes on West 59th Street were temporarily closed to facilitate the investigation and remove the vehicles involved. The area has since reopened.

According to the NYPD, no charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
