Motorcycle Crash Claims Life in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, FL — A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on US 17 near New Berlin Road on October 10 at approximately 5:15 p.m.
Authorities said the collision involved a single motorcycle. Emergency responders, including the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, arrived on the scene shortly after and found the rider with serious injuries. Medical personnel pronounced the rider dead at the scene.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the highway was closed for several hours while an investigation took place. Cleanup crews assisted with the removal of the motorcycle and any debris from the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and authorities are still determining the cause of the crash. The FHP is urging witnesses to contact them with any information.
