ASHFORD, CT – A serious motorcycle and dirt bike collision closed Route 44 on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
The accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. near the intersection with Westford Road. Two vehicles were involved in the crash: a motorcycle and a dirt bike.
Emergency response teams from the Connecticut State Police and local fire departments arrived on the scene to provide medical assistance. At least one individual suffered serious injuries, as confirmed by authorities.
As a result of the collision, both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 44 were closed for several hours to facilitate investigation and debris cleanup. Towing services were on site to remove the vehicles involved.
