One Dead After Crash Involving Two Motorcycles and Car in La Porte County
WANAHTAH, IN — One person was killed in a crash involving two motorcycles and a car on State Road 2 on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at approximately 4:15 p.m.
According to the La Porte County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place near the junction of State Road 2 and County Road 350 East. Two motorcycles collided with a car, leading to one fatality.
Emergency responders from the La Porte County EMS and the local fire department were dispatched to the scene. One motorcycle operator, a 36-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The driver of the car was unharmed.
Authorities closed State Road 2 in both directions while they conducted an investigation and cleared the wreckage. Several hours later, lanes were reopened to traffic.
The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details regarding the identities of those involved have been released.
