Motorcyclist Dies in Plant City Collision; Driver Charged with DUI

PLANT CITY, FL – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a car on East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on October 8 at approximately 6:30 p.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 36-year-old male motorcyclist was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound, resulting in the motorcycle flipping and the rider being ejected. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle, a 33-year-old male, showed signs of impairment and was arrested on charges of Driving Under the Influence (DUI). He was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail.

Emergency services responded promptly, providing medical aid to the motorcyclist. The eastbound lanes of the roadway were closed for several hours as investigators worked at the site.

No additional injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing to witnesses for any further details regarding the incident.
