Actor Treat Williams Dies in Motorcycle Accident in Dorset
DORSET, VT—Actor Richard Treat Williams, 71, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Vermont Route 30 on June 12 at approximately 4:53 p.m.
According to the Vermont State Police, a southbound 2008 Honda Element, operated by 35-year-old Ryan M. Koss of Pownal, attempted to turn left into a parking lot. The Element turned into the path of Williams’s northbound 1986 Honda VT700c motorcycle. Williams was thrown from his motorcycle upon impact.
He sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Koss was evaluated at the scene and reported minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident and will return to the crash site for further examination on June 13.

Williams was a veteran actor known for his roles in numerous films and television series, particularly Everwood. He lived in both Park City, Utah, and Manchester Center, Vermont, with his family.
