Actor Treat Williams of ‘Everwood’ dies in motorcycle crash in Vermont.

DORSET, Vt. (AP) – Actor Treat Williams, known for his roles in “Everwood” and “Hair,” died at 71 following a motorcycle crash on June 12, according to Vermont State Police.

The collision occurred shortly before 5 p.m. when a Honda SUV turned left into a parking lot, striking Williams’ motorcycle. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Authorities confirmed Williams wore a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The driver had signaled the turn and was not detained as the investigation remains ongoing.

Williams, a longtime resident of Manchester Center, Vermont, had a prolific career in film and television, appearing in over 120 roles since his movie debut in 1975. He was notably recognized for his Golden Globe-nominated performance in “Hair” and for his role in the series “Everwood” from 2002 to 2006.

His agent, Barry McPherson, expressed devastation over the loss, stating, “He was the nicest guy. He was so talented.” Williams was remembered for his warmth and creativity by colleagues and friends in the entertainment industry.
