Vernon Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash on Tuscaloosa Road
VERNON, AL – A motorcycle accident on Tuscaloosa Road left one man dead late Friday morning, authorities confirmed.
James M. Hammett, 64, of Vernon, was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a car pulling out from the Dollar General, according to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant.
The crash occurred shortly after Hammett was traveling west on Tuscaloosa Road. Emergency responders arrived promptly, but he sustained fatal injuries.
