DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) – An 18-year-old man from Alabama died Saturday evening following a motorcycle crash in Beauregard Parish.
The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Virgil Sims Road near Pete Wyatt Road, according to Louisiana State Police.
Nicholas Johnson of Newbern, Alabama, was operating a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6 when the motorcycle veered off the roadway, entered a ditch, and struck a culvert, ejecting him.
Authorities reported that Johnson was wearing a DOT-approved helmet but was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Louisiana State Police.
