NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — A motorcycle crash on the Blue Ridge Parkway claimed the life of an Alabama man on Monday afternoon.
The National Park Service reported the incident occurred near milepost 16 at approximately 4:17 p.m.
First responders found the operator, identified as 68-year-old Timothy Carl Brown of Trussville, Alabama, at the scene.
According to authorities, Brown was traveling southbound when he left the road shoulder, veered back onto the roadway, flipped, and came to a stop.
Brown was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
