Alaska man creates intricate Lego masterpieces one brick at a time following motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — A motorcycle crash in 2013 left Mingo Graham paralyzed below the waist, but he has turned to building Lego sets as a form of rehabilitation.

Graham was involved in an accident at 110 miles per hour, striking a pole and breaking his C6 vertebra. He spent months in a coma before waking up at Stanford University.

Life After Injury

After eight months of isolation in a rehabilitation facility in Anchorage, Graham began constructing Lego models. He now boasts an extensive collection.

His initial project was a Lego representation of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, identical to the one he was riding during the crash. He uses only his finger, thumb, and mouth for the builds.

Motivation Through Creation

Graham expressed that building Lego sets has provided him with purpose and motivation. “They give me motivation when I’m unmotivated,” he said.

Many who meet Graham are inspired by his positive attitude despite his circumstances.
