Albert R. VanRiper III, 71, of Montville, was pronounced dead following a motorcycle crash on I-80 in Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:16 p.m. on August 25, near mile marker 305. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
VanRiper was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. on September 1, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office. An autopsy is scheduled for September 2.
Initial updates from Montville Reformed Church indicated that VanRiper suffered severe long-term damage from the crash, with medical professionals shifting to comfort care prior to his death.
