Motorcyclist Rescued by Cabot School Workers After Crash

CABOT, Ark. — A motorcyclist was stabilized after a crash on Champs Hall Drive at approximately 7:45 a.m. on October 5, 2023, thanks to the quick response of three Cabot School District employees.

According to authorities, Lexi Gibbs, a nurse at Cabot Learning Academy, was en route to work when a motorcyclist, identified as Samuel McCool, collided with a vehicle ahead of her. Gibbs, along with high school Assistant Principal Tim Harrison and Assistant Principal Mike Falcinelli, provided immediate assistance.

Witnesses reported seeing Gibbs performing CPR on McCool until emergency medical services arrived. McCool was described as unresponsive at the scene, sparking fears among the responders when he was found without a pulse.

Emergency personnel arrived shortly after the incident, providing medical aid and transporting the motorcyclist to a local hospital. He remains in recovery but expressed gratitude to Gibbs and the other school officials.

McCool stated he does not remember the crash but is relieved to have survived, urging others to slow down and appreciate life. The roadway was temporarily closed for investigation and cleanup.

Gibbs, reflecting on the experience, said the outcome provided a refreshing perspective after her previous work in a critical care environment.
