TIGER MOUNTAIN, WA – A 19-year-old man died in a motorcycle collision with a truck on State Route 28 on Wednesday evening, June 16, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:43 p.m. near Raging River. Ashton A. Sawyer of Covington was riding his Aprilia RSV4 motorcycle when he struck the rear of a Volvo semi-truck. Sawyer was wearing a helmet at the time, but authorities reported he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt. Their identity has not been disclosed.

The crash resulted in the closure of State Route 28 for over two hours while first responders worked to clear the site. Authorities are investigating the incident, and it remains unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The Washington State Patrol is leading the investigation. Further details will be released as they emerge.
