ATTLEBORO, Mass. — A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on I-95 south near the Rhode Island state line Thursday morning.
According to Attleboro Fire Chief Scott Lachance, the collision occurred just before 10 a.m. Responding crews discovered the motorcycle and its operator approximately 500 feet away from the point of impact with another vehicle.
Officials reported the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby trauma center. The driver of the other vehicle was unharmed.
The Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the crash. As a result of the incident, the left and center lanes of the highway remain closed.
