MORTON COUNTY, N.D. — A motorcycle crash claimed the life of a 52-year-old man in rural Morton County on May 13.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Ryan Abels of Carson was traveling southbound on Highway 49 between Glen Ullin and Elgin around 5 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. Abels reportedly lost control while navigating a curve and left the roadway.
Emergency responders pronounced Abels dead at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Authorities confirmed that the Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the accident.
Glen Ullin is located 54 miles west of Bismarck.
