Big Lake Woman Dies After Motorcycle-Pedestrian Collision
BIG LAKE, AK—A 79-year-old woman has died following a motorcycle versus pedestrian collision on a paved walking path in Big Lake on July 8, 2024.
According to the Alaska State Troopers, a Yamaha dirt bike, operated by 19-year-old Brendan Clark of Anchorage, was traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with Nadara Williams. Troopers and EMS responded to the scene and transported Williams to a local hospital for treatment.
Troopers were notified on July 9 that Williams succumbed to her injuries. Clark has been cited for operating an off-highway vehicle in a pedestrian area, as per 13 AAC 02.455(g). The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be forthcoming.
Authorities are emphasizing the dangers of operating motor vehicles on pedestrian pathways. This practice is not only illegal but poses significant risks to both pedestrians and operators.
