A fatal crash closed southbound Highway 100 early Wednesday morning in Bloomington, prompting an emergency response.
At approximately 5:30 a.m., an 18-year-old driver lost control of a minivan, rolled over, and struck the bridge at Interstate 494, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The driver, identified as Mason Drummond, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.
Emergency services responded promptly, and Minnesota Department of Transportation cameras recorded images of a vehicle on fire. The highway reopened around 7:30 a.m., approximately two hours after the crash.
The State Patrol continues to investigate the incident. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no reported additional injuries.
