Award-winning Bluegrass Singer Ronnie Bowman Dies Following Motorcycle Crash in Tennessee
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Award-winning bluegrass singer Ronnie Bowman has died following complications from a motorcycle accident in Ashland City, Tennessee, on March 21.
According to WXII 12 News NBC affiliate WSMV, the crash occurred on Saturday, resulting in serious injuries. Bowman’s family confirmed his passing on March 22 in a public statement, expressing their shock and gratitude for the outpouring of support.
Authorities indicated that an investigation is ongoing, but no further details about the accident have been released. Emergency services responded to the scene and provided medical aid, but specific injury details remain unconfirmed.
Bowman, a Mount Airy native, was a celebrated figure in the music community, having received numerous accolades, including three IBMA Male Vocalist of the Year awards and the IBMA Song of the Year for “Three Rusty Nails” and “Cold Virginia Night.” He was also recognized as co-songwriter for Chris Stapleton’s ACM Song of the Year, “Nobody to Blame.”
