Bridgeport Officer Killed in Crash Remembered with Memorial Patrol Car.

Danbury Motorcycle Crash Claims Two Lives

DANBURY, CT – A motorcycle crash early Monday morning resulted in the deaths of two individuals near the Ridgefield line.

According to authorities, Officer Cooper Whiteside, 36, was riding a Harley-Davidson with passenger Tania Islami, 35, when they collided with a Jeep Compass on Sugar Hollow Road around 2:45 a.m. Both Whiteside and Islami were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep was transported to Danbury Hospital with serious injuries. Police confirmed that emergency responders were on the scene promptly after the incident.

As a result of the crash, Sugar Hollow Road experienced lane closures for the investigation. The crash is currently under investigation by local authorities.

The Danbury Police Department announced that Whiteside’s police vehicle, No. 311, will be displayed at the department’s memorial located at 300 Congress St. Community members are encouraged to bring items that honor Whiteside, which will be collected on Sunday.
