NELSON, Wisc. (KTTC) – Charges have been filed against a truck driver involved in a fatal crash on Highway 35 on September 27, 2024.
Luke Larson, 35, of Alma, faces two counts of homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle after colliding with two motorcyclists, resulting in their deaths.
The deceased victims were identified as Mark Holzer, 59, of Rochester, and Brian Shank, 59, of Chatfield. A third motorcyclist, a 69-year-old man from Rushford, sustained minor injuries.
According to authorities, Larson was driving northbound when he realized he was on the wrong side of the road while rounding a corner. He subsequently crashed into the motorcyclists.
Larson was uninjured in the incident. Emergency responders provided medical assistance on-site. Lane closures were implemented during the investigation.
This incident remains under investigation by local law enforcement.
