BURKE COUNTY, N.C. (WHKY) – A head-on collision on NC 181 claimed the life of a Granite Falls man on August 29.
At approximately 3:45 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to the scene near the 22-mile marker. Authorities reported that a 2018 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2018 Subaru traveling north.
The motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Vincente Alan Adenau, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru was unharmed.
Investigators found no evidence of speed or impairment as contributing factors. No charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
