California Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Commercial Vehicle Near Kemmerer.

KEMMERER, Wyo. –– A motorcycle accident near Kemmerer on Thursday, August 13, resulted in one fatality.

According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on U.S. Highway 189 when a Western Star commercial vehicle, heading north, attempted a turn onto an on-ramp at U.S. 30 near mile marker 24.55.

The commercial vehicle did not yield, leading to a collision in which the motorcycle struck the trailer. The rider, identified as 37-year-old Dakota Gracey from California, was ejected from the bike and landed in the roadway. The commercial vehicle completed its turn and parked on the on-ramp.

Weather conditions were wet due to rain, though the motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Authorities cited driver inattention as a contributing factor.

Emergency services were dispatched, but details regarding additional injuries were not confirmed. An investigation is ongoing, and road conditions are being assessed for safety.
