BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A motorcyclist died following a crash on Interstate 81 in Botetourt County on Tuesday evening, according to Virginia State Police.
Troopers responded to the two-vehicle accident at 6:07 p.m. on July 7, 2026, approximately a half-mile south of Brughes Mill Rd.
Thirty-six-year-old Andrew David Lee Camp, riding a Harley Davidson, reportedly weaved between vehicles and struck a pickup truck from behind.
Authorities confirmed that Camp was wearing a helmet; the pickup driver was unharmed.
The northbound lanes of I-81 experienced temporary closures as emergency responders managed the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
