Cedar Hill Man Dies in Two-Vehicle Crash in Washington County
A 62-year-old Cedar Hill man was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Hwy. 185 near Goose Creek Road at 10:28 a.m. on February 28, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The victim, identified by Washington County Coroner Steve Hatfield as Michael Eckstein, was riding a 2017 Harley-Davidson Street Glider. Authorities said Eckstein was traveling too fast for conditions and failed to negotiate a right curve, crossing the center line and colliding with a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser operated by a 37-year-old St. Charles man.
Eckstein was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was transported to the Washington County Morgue. No other injuries were reported in the crash. Both vehicles were totaled, and Eckstein was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and no further details have been released.
