Cedarburg man sustains serious injuries in motorcycle crash with deer.

COLUMBUS, WIS. — A Cedarburg man sustained serious injuries in a motorcycle crash involving a deer on Sunday morning near Columbus.

According to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, the 37-year-old was traveling east on State Highway 16/60 around 8 a.m., approximately 1.5 miles east of Columbus, when the incident occurred.

The man, who was the sole rider on the motorcycle, was ejected during the collision and subsequently flown to UW Hospital in Madison. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The highway was closed for approximately two hours for emergency response and investigation. The status of the investigation is ongoing, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
