CENTRALIA, MO – A high-speed motorcycle chase ended in a crash late Thursday night, leaving two individuals injured.
According to Central City Police, Adam Holzhausen, 33, lost control of his motorcycle while attempting to evade officers around 11:45 p.m. The incident occurred on Orchard Drive, where Holzhausen swerved into a cul-de-sac, struck a trash can, and was thrown from the vehicle along with his passenger, 28-year-old Robin Sanders.
Both riders were transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. Sanders was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis for further treatment. Authorities reported that Holzhausen declined medical assistance immediately but requested help later at the police station. Both individuals were later released and returned home.
Holzhausen faces multiple citations, including DUI, aggravated DUI, reckless driving, no insurance, and disobeying five stop signs. Central City Police Chief Jamie Ramsey stated that officers initiated a pursuit of Holzhausen shortly before the crash, which was abandoned due to his excessive speed.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and lane closures were in effect during emergency response activities.
